In 2017, as part of WeTransfer’s 40th anniversary celebrations of NASA’s Golden Record project, Gilles Peterson reflected on the planet earth of today, interviewing 6 musicians from 6 continents, reflecting on how their upbringing, both local and global, has shaped their creative direction.

Nubya Garcia is a saxophonist emerging as part of a new generation of London jazz musicians. Nubya explores her childhood in Camden, London, and what role club culture and the diversity of the city has played in her music, whilst also reflecting on the importance of being present during a live performance.

Nubya Garcia is performing at We Out Here Festival 2019 on Thursday 15 August at Rhythm Corner stage.
