Monthly show from Kyoto, the Japan’s original capital city, presented by Shuya Okino, music tastemaker and member of Kyoto Jazz Massive. This broadcast showcases the sensibility and energy of Kyoto city with cohost Sara Aiko and DJ Masaki Tamura.

Joining the crew for this episode are the team behind KYOTOGRAPHIE, an international photography exhibition.

WW Kyoto is direct from new venue y gion, a multipurpose cultural centre in Gion, Kyoto.

Shuya Okino

Shuya Okino is a Japanese DJ, songwriter, author and the producer of the popular music venue The Room in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Masaki Tamura

Masaki Tamura started DJing in 2003 and quickly became known for selecting both traditional and modern jazz music. He has also held various iconic events in Kyoto, including the crossover event Do it JAZZ!.

Lucille Reyboz (KYOTOGRAPHIE)

Lucille Reyboz’s career in photography began in Africa, where she grew up. In 1999 she visited to Japan to participate in the Opera ‘Life’ by Ryuichi Sakamoto. As a photographer she worked on record jackets for the jazz labels Blue Note Records and Verve Records. She has always been fascinated by Japan and Japanese culture, and is currently living in Japan.

Yusuke Nakanishi

Yusuke Nakanishi is a lighting artist. His work is influenced by his different cultural experiences and travels all over the world. He has exhibited in Tokyo and Paris. In 2013 he started the international photo exhibition, KYOTOGRAPHIE with Lucille Reyboz.
