12.11.18Monthly show from Kyoto, Japan’s original capital city, presented by Shuya Okino, music tastemaker and member of Kyoto Jazz Massive. He will be joined by DJ KAWASAKI, Masaki Tamura and Sara Aico.
DJ KAWASAKI
DJ KAWASAKI is a DJ, remixer, producer and composer who debuted in 2005 when he released a 12 inch single from King Street Records. In 2006 his album ‘Beautiful’ was release from the major record label Columbia. The singles released from this album made No.1 by eight consecutive tracks on the iTunes Dance Chart.
Following this his remix of Roland Appel’s ‘Dark Solider’, the tune was played by Detroit’s DJ 3000, Germany’s DJ Hell. His tune ‘Galactic Love’ from the album ‘Paradise’ gained him his reputation internationally. He recently started his own label “KAWASAKI RECORDS”. His first release from this will be ‘Don’t Put My Heart Down’ feat Maylee Todd” (HMV Records) on November 3.
Masaki Tamura
Masaki Tamura started DJing in 2003 and quickly became known for selecting both traditional and modern jazz music. He has also held various iconic events in Kyoto, including the crossover event Do it JAZZ!.
Sara Aiko
Sara Aiko is the founder and creative director of Curated Kyoto. She shares her love for Kyoto through the internet as well as in-person tours.
Shuya Okino
Shuya Okino is a Japanese DJ, songwriter, author and the producer and one half of the founding member of Kyoto Jazz Massive. He runs the popular music venue The Room in Shibuya, Tokyo.
