The Women Of Pirate Radio: Kate Hutchinson with DJ Camilla, DJ Elayne and DJ Flight
08.03.18For this International Women’s Day 2018 special, journalist and Worldwide FM host Kate Hutchinson is joined by some of the female DJs who were instrumental in London’s early days of pirate radio.
DJ Camilla – who was featured in 2017’s BBC4 documentary The Last Pirates: Britain’s Rebel DJs – represents Dread Broadcasting Company and London Wide Radio, alongside DJ Elayne of LWR (and also Top Of The Pops) and, for the latter days of the LDN pirates, DJ Flight, who was one of the first females on Rinse FM (as well as Kool, Pressure, Tidy and Flex FM). Plus Angie Dee, Sarah HB and more names from pirate radio’s golden era contribute to the playlist.
