Toshio Matsuura presents his fortnightly two hour music program, WW Tokyo. One of the founding members of the U.F.O. (United Futures Organisation), Toshio has remained a leader in the Tokyo nightlife scene for years.

Toshio will be joined by 3 guests, DJs, producers and promoters who are becoming the fresh driving force of the underground music scene in Tokyo: Ill Sugi (Yokohama, Japan/Jazzy Sport, Menace), tajima hal (Hermit City Recordings), CYK TOKYO.

Ill Sugi (Yokohama, Japan / Jazzy Sport, Menace)

Born in Kanagawa, Japan, Ill Sugi is a beat maker representing the J.M.R crew. Also well known for making beats with fellow Japanese beatsmiths Budamunk and Bugseed, Sugi got signed on the legendary Jazzy Sport in early 2015 with his first -and already classic- LP “Stiff Fingers”. He released then “Urban Maze LP” on Menace and more recently “Slow Lights LP” on Jazzy Sport again.

tajima hal (Hermit City Recordings)

tajima hal is a Yokohama based producer, also known as the owner of Hermit City Recordings which is a new beats label based in Japan. He dropped his first album “tones” from Urban Waves Records in Belgium in 2015. As he moved to Berlin in 2013, he started making some good connections with European producers too. Having completed a tour in Europe (Paris, Dortmund, Köln, Mainz, Zürich, Budapest) in 2017, he has since been organising the most hoped party that is focused on beats / Instrumental music with Yagi.

CYK TOKYO

It was a natural thing that CYK came to be — when some of Tokyo’s house music legends came together to throw their own party. Not only a platform for showcasing international guests, CYK is also a collective of DJs, organisers and promoters. CYK has invited international guests such as Mall Grab, HAAi, Avalon Emerson, Nachtbraker, Seb Wildblood and Beesmunt Soundsystem to Tokyo and promoted Japanese domestic talents such as Jun Kamoda and Sauce 81 to young clubbers.

CYK themselves will show off an exclusive B2B set by four members. We don’t propose any lofty aims as a crew — we simply love to keep representing proper grooviness and to draw partygoers into exciting and immersive dance spaces.
