World of Echoes: François K
15.09.20World of Echoes is a monthly four hour show from the French-born DJ, producer, remixer and and label owner François K. His career began at the Paradise Garage, Studio 54 and Loft in 70’s. He soon went on to become a significant studio hand for artists likes of Arthur Russell to Kraftwerk and a notable producer, working with and remixing artists from Diana Ross to Adam Ant. He has indisputably become one of the most influential artists in modern dance music.
This month’s edition finds François K playing an ‘All-Requests Disco Set’ that only features song requests crowdsourced by members of the “World of Echoes” Facebook group. As this community is just reaching a milestone 10,000 members, some pretty amazing suggestions were made by many of its participants and this show is the result. From the quirky and obscure to more familiar hits, this month’s program is the reflection of the group’s wide-ranging tastes in disco records.
