Paul is joined for the first hour by improv-saxophonist Alan Wilkinson to talk about the 3 Of A Kind LP just released on Cafe Oto’s Otoroku imprint, and the improv movement in Europe. The LP was recorded live at Ikletik in south London with his long standing compadres drummer Steve Noble and bassist John Edwards. Though Wilkinson is “a master of the tribal, balls-out approach to sax playing..” there’s great subtlety in what he does. In the second hour Paul continues the journey by exploring the continuum and some relevant releases both past and and present.
