Label Fair: Strut Records with Quinton Scott

18.03.19

Worldwide FM Label Fair is a mix / mixtape series to introduce passionate record labels, who champion new releases and re-issues.

Strut is celebrating a big 20 years this year and has become one of the best known labels for lovingly curated reissues and compilations spanning African, Latin, Caribbean, soul, disco and post-punk sounds. They have also helped to rejuvenate the careers of legends like Mulatu Astatke, Ebo Taylor, Pat Thomas and Orlando Julius through new studio albums.
“Really happy to be a part of Worldwide FM’s Label Fair series! We have pulled together some exclusives for you from Strut projects coming up this year including some Madagascan salegy, new Kwashibu Area Band fresh from sessions with Pat Thomas, a Patrice Rushen classic from a new 3LP set and a Disques Debs gem out of Guadeloupe. Nubiyan Twist, some Detroit jazz from Teddy Harris, Jr. and Ziad Rahbani also in the mix.” Quinton
