To say that Bobby Hutcherson was prolific is an understatement. When putting together this mix the amount of music available was almost overwhelming. As a vibraphone and marimba player and composer he was part of an elite group of mid-twentieth century jazz players and his playing was revered by his peers. His numerous albums on Blue Note feature a personnel that reads like a who’s who, and stand as a testament to his enormous legacy.
