Soundway: Paula Juana with Gabriel Cyr from Thaba (for Khusi)
30.10.20Worldwide FM Soundway with Paula Juana brings you a space to explore Soundway’s musical offering and chat with artists, compilers and composers, showcasing the music that inspires them to create. Paula Juana is head of sync and creative uses at Soundway Records and managing director at Soundway Publishing. She is joined by producer/musician Gabriel Cyr, one half of South African-US duo Thaba (with Khusi Seremane).
On this show she is joined by Cyr, who primarily performs under the name Teleseen, focuses on left-field house and techno with global influences. Before relocating to Europe earlier this year. He split his time between New York City and Rio de Janeiro, working as a producer and engineer for an array of artists spanning genres from indie rock to dancehall. Seremane lived in Cape Town, where he worked as a pharmacist during the day and made introspective Afro-soul by night as Lebadi and as a member of the musical collective Tapedeck Circutiry. Tragically, Khusi passed away suddenly in July just as Soundway were about to announce the album ‘Eyes Rest Their Feet’. Rest in peace, Khusi.
