Piano Day 2021: Nik Bärtsch

29.03.21

Piano Day takes place on the 88th day of the year because of the number of keys on the instrument being celebrated. In 2021, this day falls on the 29th of March. Worldwide FM celebrates the beauty of the magnificent instrument and the development of its music with six talented pianists from around the world.

Nik Bärtsch, the swiss pianist and composer releasing on ECM Records, presents his favourite piano tunes, giving an insight into his solo piano album Entendre. As versatile as the list of his admirers (Ricardo Villalobos, Laurie Anderson, or even The Simpsons founder Matt Groening), his selections range from meditative to cool.
