Piano Day 2021: Hania Rani

29.03.21

Piano Day takes place on the 88th day of the year because of the number of keys on the instrument being celebrated. In 2021, this day falls on the 29th of March. Worldwide FM celebrates the beauty of the magnificent instrument and the development of its music with six talented pianists from around the world.

Hania Rani is a pianist, composer and musician releasing on Gondwana Records. She was born in Gdansk and now splits her life between Warsaw, where she makes her home, and Berlin, where she studied and works.

”It was a nightmare to squeeze my favorite piano songs in the one-hour session so I decided to present something that I really admire about the piano – the contrasts. Mixture of melancholy and joy, complexity and simplicity, solitude and companionship, silence and energy – so many emotions hidden in between 88 keys…”
