Coco Em is a Nairobi based DJ, specialising in Afro-House, Kuduro, Kwaito, Lingala and EDM.
Starting only a few years ago, whilst being a photo journalist, she quickly gained momentum due to years of digging, collecting and curating music.
Her approach to eclectic mixing has put her on the radar, with performances for many festivals across Africa and beyond, including Beat Hotel in Marrakech, Nyege Nyege Festival in Uganda to name a few.
In her words, her mix for International Tribe ‘journeys through South and East Africa with lots of rhythm, percussions and bass – a formula I apply to most of my mixes.’ It also features some fresh Lingala Tunes, Kenyan House music, Old School Kwaito and more.
