Come Away With NYC 1977-86

10.01.20

Worldwide FM programmer Sam Fawcett journeys into the sounds that defined an integral era in New York City developing into the major cultural city it is today.

The show, taking its name from the famous ‘Come Away with ESG’ album, starts in 1977 after the riots and city wide blackout; a bankrupt city is home to the freaks and creatives that truly put New York on the map. Cheap living gave birth to a movement beginning with punk, it developed into and fused with no wave, post-punk, electro, disco and continues to inspire to this day. Tune in for an hour chronicling a journey from CBGB to Paradise Garage and beyond.
