Ceylan Göksel with Janus Rasmussen (Kiasmos) and Aparde Live

13.06.19

Worldwide FM digital content manager, DJ and producer Ceylan Göksel is joined by Janus Rasmussen from the Icelandic duo Kiasmos and Aparde for two special live sessions and a chat discussing their inspirations and new releases on Ki Records. In this two hour show, you will be hearing a blend of the lush and contemporary classical music with ambient, techno and minimal sounds.

Janus Rasmussen

Janus Rasmussen turned to music as a creative outlet early on. Growing up in the remote Faroe Islands, he would listen to every single record he could get his hands on to study and determine his preferred genre. Soon enough, he was learning how to play the guitar and crafting his own sound and style through electronic music.

Today, Rasmussen works alongside acclaimed pianist and producer Ólafur Arnalds as one-half of the duo KIASMOS, with whom he has toured extensively performing at some of the most esteemed festivals around the world. He is also one of the masterminds behind the electro-pop outfit Bloodgroup.

Currently residing and working in Reykjavik, Janus Rasmussen has recently recorded his debut solo album Vín, which explores new sound-worlds within the realm of experimental minimal techno. The album is due for release on the 29th of March via Ki Records.

Aparde

Aparde sounds like sensivity but moving, maybe a bit to much pathos belong a strong contrast between driving rhythms and wide, warm and mainly self recorded, unique sounds and atmosphere.

Born at the baltic sea and grown up far away from the scene that is surrounding him now, Paul Camillo Rachel alias Aparde was rooted in several bands, played instruments, did vocals and tried and produced music in many different stylistics.

His music now tries to embody the essence of his way of producing, his goods and technics, packed in emotionally or physical touching, finely arranged, warm and organic sounding songs. To him, simplicity means to find inspiration and action in direct surroundings or surrounding ones, from a practical view.
