This week on Morning Mari* we’re celebrating the UK Bruk movement, via CoOp Presents: Selectors Assemble Volume Two. Selectors Assemble is a collective of DJs, producers, and artists connected with the pioneers of UK Broken Beat – CoOp Presents.
Eight months after First Word Records put out the first Selectors Assemble compilation, this follow-up EP has been released on brand new label CoOp Presents, founded by IG Culture and Alex Phountzi. Carrying on the spirit of the original CoOp club night, the label seeks to launch new talent in the London broken beat scene.
The six-track selection of jazzy, soulful cuts features James Rudie, Danvers, EVM128, Cengiz Entek, Miraa May and NameBrandSound. Check out Selectors Assemble’s two-hour show, every third Friday of the month on Worldwide FM.
