Da Poet
Beatmaker, producer and MC, Da Poet has been around in Istanbul’s hip-hop circuit since 2005, cutting albums and compiling mixtapes, building a wide and quality repertoire of work.
His latest record Beattape 2 has just been released from Tektostag Records. On this recent release, Da Poet works his hiphop magic with futuristic productions.
Çerikunda (Ala-mooga to Synth Special)
Çerikunda is a Istanbul-Berlin based digger and DJ crew, exploring the hidden dust of sounds with their radio shows, mixtapes, experiments and DJ sets since 2006.
For this show Emir Özer of Çerikunda focuses on the use of synth in Turkey between 1960s-80s. From record to cassette, moog to synth, with different styles including psych to disco.
OBEE
Istanbul and New York based DJ, producer and local legend OBEE is known for his refined take on dance music.
OBEE presents a project he worked on during his studies in Contemporary Music at New York’s New School. His hour long electroacoustic composition Wiring the Pinhole aims to create a universal identity according changing conditions of society, by compiling practices of various musical traditions through the common source of energy.
