Starting 2021 with a mix from Daniel Ramos, known in the world of music as ‘Skinny Beats’ from the Viejos Beats collective of Monterrey, Nuevo León.

Inviting Daniel to this program means understanding his artistic expression that was formed between two worlds. Born in Chicago, with family coming from Mexico, we want to explore those bridges that create his particular musical interests. Daniel invites us to lay down and listen, something we think is vital to start this new year.

He opens with a collection of familiar songs from Flaco Jimenez, Lola Beltran and Los Tigres del Norte, which is the specific style that we would like to give special attention, Norteño and border music that crosses the barriers and mixes with rock, jazz and hip hop. This set is worthy of radio that pays tribute to the new generations of Mexican Americans.
