International Tribe: Philipp Gorbachev
28.11.19International Tribe is a weekly mix series hosted by Thris Tian.
This week’s International Tribe mix comes from Philipp Gorbachev.
Philipp Gorbachev has been gently bubbling at the epicenter of Moscow’s electronic music scene. The producer began his path in 2011 before a debut album, ‘Silver Album’, was released in 2014 on Matias Aguayo’s Berlin label Cómeme. Gorbachev followed it with ‘Unlock the Box’ in 2016, this time on his own label, PG Tunes.
His music blends techno, house, avant-garde dance and the jagged edges of post-punk and he steps up with a unique hour of selections for his International Tribe mix. Most recently Philipp Gorbachev, ARMA17 and System 108 resident, bell ringer by day, DJ by night have returned to the artists own PG TUNE label for his fascinating third LP, KOLOKOL (‘The Bell’).
“The podcast contains a rough live jam based on the KOLOKOL album, as well as rare or impossible to find recordings by Pavel Markelov and Aleksandr Chaika, both legendary bell ringers of post-USSR Russia. “
