International Tribe: Mana Records
15.08.19Mana Records is a label established in 2017 by Andrea Zarza, curator at the British Library Sound Archive, and Blowing Up The Workshop founder Matthew Kent.
They have released music from artists such as Nicolas Jaar, De Leon, Diptera and more.
’Mana can be understood as a powerful, often magical, force contained within objects. As these objects get passed from one to another, in a cycle of gifting, they retain the spirit of the giver and propel themselves onto the next recipient, weaving a network of social bonds.’
‘Publishing works at the intersection of contemporary and archival sound, Mana is a platform redrawing narrative boundaries and perspectives, through a playful, radical and unexpected approach.
The mix contains some forthcoming music on Mana, unreleased tracks from friends, and recent favourites that have passed through our hands. Subtly influenced by the seismic shifts in weather patterns.’
