This week’s International Tribe mix comes from Boreal Massif (Pessimist and Loop Faction).
Following an album in 2017 for Blackest Ever Black, Pessimist teams up with Loop Faction (who also featured), for their latest project, which comes in the form of the alias Boreal Massif and the LP ‘We All Have An Impact (Even Hippies Do)’.The ethos behind the project portrays sobering themes of a dark future.
Based in South-West England and having already released on Loxy’s Cylon Recordings a couple of years ago under a different alias, the duo focus on influences from drum and bass, bass music with smoky post-apocalyptic atmospheres and an impending sense of dread, with climate change at the core of their musical exploration. They step up for an hour of unique down tempo cuts, bass infused rhythms and climate orientated vocals.
