Titonton Duvanté

With a musical history and catalogue that spans back to the early 90′s, Titonton Duvante is one of those true school artists whose talent has continually shone through with a certain style and finesse that few come close to, let alone equal.

Straddling the line between the outer reaches of Motorcity sounds and the sheer force of his own musical imagination, his sound very much lives in its own sphere: having cut his teeth with releases on Metamorphic, 7th City, Palette, Environ, Planet E along with his own imprint Residual Recordings. The co-creator of the seminal techno band Body Release (alongside Todd Sines, Charles Noel and Mike Szewczyk), he has continued his path through a multifaceted career as a composer, recording artist, producer, remixer, record label owner, event promoter and DJ, continually striving to evolve creatively.

As a DJ, he has always been known for blurring the boundaries of electronic music genres as he seeks to deconstruct, blend and rebuild beats through what can only be described as a unique brand of turntablism – having exported his extraordinary style and energy to clubs around the world from Detroit and San Francisco to Berlin, London, Paris, Sao Paulo, Tokyo and beyond. Some recent milestones include : In 2015, he celebrated 20 years of releasing vinyl and in 2018 the 20 year mark of his imprint Residual Recordings.

ItsNate

Produced by London based multi-instrumentalist SELVSSE; new offering Time Out flaunts Nate’s ability to carve candid and vivid tales of London life. Bringing to life Nate’s vision is director Silence (Yxng Bane, Anne-Marie, Notion) whose wavy visual depicts the need for space and separation from even those you love the most.

Rising to notoriety with his critically acclaimed JD. Reid collaboration – mixtape Me+1, – ItsNate caught the attention of the UK rap zeitgeist, gaining nods of approval from the likes The Fader, HighSnobiety amongst many others.

During this time SLOCAL was founded – a collective of like minded creatives including artists, photographers, DJs and producers – providing a platform to artists of the alternative UK rap landscape and one of the first to showcase Kojey Radical, Little Simz, 808INK and Jay Prince to name a few. As SLOCAL continued to grow, the crew travelled to Europe and beyond curating their own events in Berlin, Zurich, Amsterdam, Brussels, with a particular highlight of opening up for Skepta at Dubai’s premier lifestyle and musical festival Sole DXB.

Aided by Nate’s moody yet polished production, and featuring Oscar Worldpeace for standout banger Not Guilty, More To Come and Lots To Do 2, sees Nate peel back the layers to reveal an individual sticking to his guns in midst of the madness and mundane in London Town and beyond.
