Show from DJ Gilla, A&R/founder of First Word Records. Known for his eclectic and floor-filling sets, Gilla’s style takes in soul, beats, hip hop, jazz and beyond.

Special guest Mr Thing (BBE/First Word) will be joining Gilla this month to take a look back at one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. Nas’ ‘Illmatic’ is revered as a seminal rap record, with production from heavyweights Large Professor, Pete Rock, DJ Premier Q Tip and L.E.S. They’ll be looking back at the genesis of the record, revisiting the sample sources and talking about the lasting impact of an all time classic.
